Free tool · One evaluation per account
Evaluate a research idea before you write the paper
Describe your idea in a few sentences. ScholarSignal retrieves the closest existing work and returns an editor-style verdict on contribution, claims versus design, journal fit and desk-rejection risk, while changing direction is still cheap.

Why evaluate the idea, not the manuscript
Most feedback arrives after the paper is written: from reviewers, from manuscript tools or from a desk rejection. By then the design is fixed. Problems with contribution and design are cheapest to fix at the idea stage, before data collection and writing.
The rubric is distilled from published editorials on what survives desk review, and every report lists the works it used so you can check them. See how it works, the illustrative examples and the guide to avoiding desk rejection.
Questions
Is the evaluation free?
Yes, one evaluation per account is free with no card. Pro adds ten evaluations per billing period for revisions and more projects.
What should I write in the description?
The question, the setting, the data if you have any, and what the paper would claim. A few sentences are enough; a full abstract gives a sharper result.
Does a Go mean the paper will be accepted?
No. The verdict is a structured second opinion based on published editorial criteria and the literature retrieved for your idea. Editors and reviewers make the decision.
Is my unpublished idea safe?
Your idea is used only to produce your evaluation and radar. Requests go only to AI providers that do not train on submitted text, as classified by OpenRouter. Privacy details
