Find where your topic is growing, and where it is crowded.
Enter a topic. We read ten years of publications in OpenAlex and show how fast the topic grows, which angles gain share, which are saturated, and what the field cites now.
Found an angle? Test the specific idea.
A gap in the counts is a hypothesis: few papers can also mean the question matters to nobody. ScholarSignal checks your specific idea against the closest existing work and an editor rubric.

Growing angles are sub-topics (OpenAlex topics) whose share of your topic’s papers in the last three complete years is at least 50% higher than in the three years before, and which are still smaller than the typical sub-topic. Crowded angles are the largest sub-topics whose share did not grow.
Counts come from OpenAlex (CC0), limited to journal articles in the Social Sciences domain. Venues are counted from papers with at least ten citations in CWTS core journals. None of this measures whether a question is important or publishable; it shows where the conversation is moving.
